The Academy Neighborhood

Houses IV, V, and VI are all located on the same street in the Academy Neighborhood.  You can read remarks from people who have lived in these houses HERE.

You can see pictures and read more about the area HERE.

Academy is a transitional neighborhood and there are a number of derelict boarded-up houses on the street where Houses IV, V, and VI are located.  That said, the area is really more quiet than anything and we have not experienced crime-related issues at any of the houses. We know a lot of our neighbors and they look out for us and vice-versa.

The interesting/crazy/sad thing is, just a few blocks to the south of these houses are multi-million dollar mansions.  Why the difference? Racial segregation. It’s called the Delmar Divide, and it is one of the most pervasive racial dividing lines still in existence in this country today.

Watch a short piece by the BBC on the Delmar Divide HERE.

The houses are close to all sorts of great St. Louis areas...they are less than a mile from the Central West End, a couple of miles from the Delmar Loop, a few miles from downtown, and less than a mile from Forest Park. There is also fairly convenient access to highways 40, 44, and 170.

What does all of this mean to you?  Well, you can live in a great house located very close to many of St. Louis City’s most desirable destinations for super cheap!
